What is Salvation?
It is being forgiven of sins through the sacrifice by Christ of his own body and blood. We are thereby rescued and preserved from the doom of all sinners. Instead, by the grace of God, we are given eternal life.
Salvation is a gift of God available to everyone that believes.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
To receive the gift of salvation, here’s what you must do:
Acknowledge in your heart Jesus is the Son of God and your sincere need and desire for him in your life. “For every one that asketh receiveth…” (Matthew 7:8)
Believe with your heart that Jesus was raised from the dead. “..believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans10:9)
“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;…” (Romans 10:10)
Confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,… thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9) “…with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:-10)
Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Savior.
Pray this Prayer:
“Lord I believe that you died for me. I accept you today as my personal Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you Jesus for coming into my life and saving me.”
Once you have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior you are a member of God’s family of believers of Jesus Christ.
The Bible tells us “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; The old has gone, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV)
Welcome to the Family of God
As a new member of God’s family it is essential that you take the following steps so that you will grow in this new life.
1: Pray and believe “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” (Luke 18:1)
2: Read the Bible so that you can apply it to your life: “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” (I Peter 2:2) “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalms 119:105)
3: Obey the Word of God and the instructions: …blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. (Luke 11:28)
4: Be a Witness.
Tell others about Jesus “Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.” (Mark 5:19)
5: Find a Bible teaching church and be accountable “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25)
